    What is the difference between Office 365 and Microsoft 365?

    Microsoft rebranded most Office 365 Business plans to Microsoft 365 in 2020. Office 365 Business Basic became Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Premium stayed the same name but under Microsoft 365. Office 365 Enterprise plans (E1, E3, E5) still exist under the Office 365 brand. If you’re buying Business tier licenses, look under Microsoft 365.

    E3 includes everything in ProPlus (full Office apps) and E1 (business services) plus security and compliance tools: legal hold, eDiscovery, data loss prevention, Rights Management, and advanced compliance features.

    Yes. Office 365 Enterprise E1, E3, and E5 all include Microsoft Teams. Business Essentials (now Microsoft 365 Business Basic) includes Teams. The standalone Office apps plans (ProPlus, Business apps-only) do not include Teams by default.
